It's on the small side of venues but the staff are way more chill than other places I find and the bar has a better selection of drinkables. I saw The Record Company here and loved it

The Independent is a Top 5 venue in San Francisco. Do not miss a show at this intimate venue. It's small size provides big sound, the staff is exemplary, and the neighborhood is excellent for grabbing a bite before the show. Easily accessible by public transportation. For me, The Fillmore and The Independent are tied for 1st of Best in San Francisco.
